These shepherd castors – M8 thread have been manufactured by Kenrick since 1948. They are a very common castor used within the upholstery trade to give a traditional look. These Shepherd castors have a M8 thread fitting and the metal ball castor gives a 300KG load per set or 4. (manufactured in the UK)
When replacing Shepherd castors
These are genuine Kenrick Shepherd castor, (we do also sell a cost effective alternative) They are very well made and suitable for traditional style furniture. This shepherd castor has an M8 thread to attach to your furniture. If you are simply replacing a wooden foot with an M8 thread, with a shepherd castor M8 thread and your furniture contains a M8 T nut, then simply turn the castor into the existing M8 T nut. If your furniture does not contain a M8 T nut then you may need to purchase M8 D nuts. These can be inserted into a wooden frame in the furniture using a allen/hex key.
